This blog's URL has been changed from clickinsight.blogspot.com to blog.clickinsight.ca, a sub-domain of our website, ClickInsight.ca. For the time being, the old blogspot URL is redirecting to the new URL.

Why change? Brand equity is one reason, as discussed by Stephane and Avinash, but also because my blog URL might be contributing to some email problems I've been experiencing. My emails are occasionally blocked by spam filters and I haven't been able to find a consistent reason why. Sure, I can ask to be whitelisted, but that's a bit of a hassle for the folks I'm trying to communicate with.

After I received the following spam filter message, I wondered is part of the reason could be the URL containing "blogspot". I include this blog's URL in my email closing signature.

Here's one spam filter message which I very much appreciate receiving:

"_unnamed_spam_filter_ has analyzed the attached email and, based on its content, has determined that it is including a link to a nonproductive site.
The company policy is to identify the message as spam and attach it to this email. In the future, these types of messages may be blocked. If you believe this message has been incorrectly identified as spam, please contact your system administrator.

The following information may be used by your system administrator to evaluate the message:
....
URL: http://clickinsight.blogspot.com/
URL Category: Personal Pages"

The above is one of the most informative easy to read spam filter messages forwarded to me. And believe me, I've seen many!

I've changed my email sig, will resend a message, and see if I'm still blocked.

Update: Changing my email signature and removing "blogspot" did the trick! This particular spam filter blocks "blogspot" but passes "blog".
